Parent Partnership

At Aplomb, we believe strong parent partnerships are key to supporting every child’s learning and development. We prioritise open communication, trust, and genuine collaboration with families from the very beginning.

During the settling-in period, we take time to let your child naturally connect with a team member. Rather than assigning a Key Person straight away, we observe who your child builds a natural bond with. Once this connection is made, we formally nominate that staff member as their Key Person. This person is someone who will support them closely and work hand-in-hand with you throughout their time at nursery.

Your will receive a thorough handover at pick-up each day and we are always available for phone calls when needed. If you’d like a longer conversation, you’re welcome to book a catch-up appointment at any time.

Communication & Updates

We use EYLog, a secure and user-friendly parent app, to help you stay connected to your child’s day.

  • For children under 2, we complete daily diaries with updates on meals, naps, nappy changes, bottles, and key activities so you’re never left wondering how their day went.
  • All families receive weekly activity and development updates filled with photos, observations, and “wow” moments that highlight your child’s learning and play. Here you can see your child’s progress, what they’ve achieved and their tailored next steps.

Involving You in Nursery Life

We love to welcome families into nursery life through regular events. These include:

  • Parent coffee mornings and afternoon tea gatherings, where you can meet other families and chat with staff in a relaxed setting
  • Graduation celebrations to mark your child’s transition to school
  • We welcome parents to be involved in the classroom, offering opportunities to come in and read a story during circle time, sing a song with the children, or share a special skill or profession. Whether it’s playing a musical instrument like the piano or guitar, talking to the children about oral hygiene as a dentist, or introducing them to another area of expertise, we value the unique contributions our families can bring to enrich the children’s learning experiences.

We are committed to building a strong, warm and communicative relationship with each family, and look forward to being part of your child’s early years journey.
